Hay Trolley/carrier question

Not to hijack rthe other good post, BUT
I wonder if its important as to a carrier working if, the pulley that rides above the forks isnt the one that came with the carrier?
?
Ive got a carrier, and Ive got a pulley with a stob above the pulley and a hook below it. They wernt got in the same place, or even in the same state, and they , im sure arent from the same make, or at least, of they are, there not from the same model. The pulley rides up into the carrier alright, but nothing locks to the head of the stob.

IT SEEMS THO, like, if the pulley was comeing up with a load of hay, and it entered the carrier, that, the continuing pull from the rope would have to make the carrier take the forks into the barn.

Whats your thoughts.

Unless the carrier pulley locks the pulley will come down with the hay as soon as the trolley starts free wheeling down the track. The weight of the hay on the pulley will make the trooley go faster than the tractor pulling on the far end of the rope, and the hay will go to the floor below. Once it hits the floor, and the tractor takes up the slack in the rope, the tractor will drag it through the mow on the floor, unless the hay7 or forks snsg onto something solid like a beam crossing the haymow.. Then the tractor will pull your new rope in two, or wreck your barn. For that reason you should use a gutless little tractor on the rope to pull up the hay..

I got the Cub.
IF the track is laid up at a angle so that it could come back out easier, or even on its own, Then, the carrier would be rideing uphill as it went into the barn, stopping free wheeling.
