Hoosier Homesteaders

I just found the neatest area of this forum. Have you ever seen the Social Groups area? I found it in a left-side list on the Personal Messages screen. There is already an Indiana group!

This could be a great way for us to get to know our neighbors, as well as share regional information and interests. Who knows? -maybe even plan a gathering this year.

Been on here since it was countryside site , I do not post much but I do look at the site daily . Live in southeastern indiana not far from Brookville lake . I do wish there was others in my area to share ideas and get togethers that where not so far off. I have many homesteading ideas that I have posted on pintrest . You should be able to find them by searching my name Jack Bunyard. As far as the social group you are talking about I can not find it .

Love going to Brookville flea market, would also like to learn how to keep bee's. I have an herb garden and while visiting my sister near KY I saw an ad for Thieneman's Herbs says they have nearly 200 different types has anybody been there? We are out of Columbus.

Contact one of the local clubs near you. You're about midway between the Southeastern club and the 10oClockBeeline club. Contact info here:

I'm a native Hoosier, too. I grew up over there, in Franklin Co. near Cedar Grove. I still have a lot of Family over there, in that area. We visit over there a couple times a year.

I moved away in '66 to go to Indy, to work at the Ford Plant. When I retired from Ford, in in '03, we moved out here to Owen Co., near Spencer.

I'm not exactly a Homesteader though. We have 13 acres of wooded hills, with a pond, with more woods all around us. The sunshine doesn't get down into our valley until about 9:00 most mornings.
But, It's a nice quiet place to be retired.

Hi Hoosiers I took 50 years to learn how to spell Hoosier and now I is one. I''ve been one since 1934

We live on a farm in Cass county way up here in the great frozen north. I worked for a trucking company for 32 years before me and Regan bankrupted them. I done my own farming until I rented it to a farmer.Never did make a profit until he payed me for the use of my ground.

Been on here since my daughter bought me a web TV longer ago that I can remember.. I'm moving pretty slow these days,

Hmmm. Didn't know there was a Hoosiers group, but then, I rarely go to the PM page and don't daley there when I do go. I'm north of Brookville; actually about 16 miles north of Richmond, but have frequently gone to White's and have even set up there. Last time I went there I took boxes of persimmons to sell (along with other stuff like maple syrup) and had 3 different gentlemen come up and sing me three different "persimmon" songs. All of them were funny; nothing serious about persimmons.
