Petition to end Daylight Savings Time

There's another thread somewhere on the board complaining about Daylight Savings Time. If you, like me, would like it to end, sign the White House petition: http://wh.gov/fh4k

The White House is not in charge here. I just go to bed when I want to, and get up when I want to. No permission needed.

Russia quit changing their clocks this year.
I have always hated the time change.

Why not split the difference and have a half hour earlier all year?

Time is only to make sure you get their on time. You could have any time you want but if it is to make sure you get their in time it could be 25 O clock If everybody was on the same time.

Just leave it one way or the other. Since I work, I do prefer DST so I have some light to work in the garden and other chores when I get home evenings. Id prefer it that way,

But if they left it Standard time year 'round, I would be ok with that too. It takes me too long to adjust and be able to sleep nights. when it changes either way.

Me too! Who cares if its light out in the morning when I am getting ready for work, it's totally useless to normal people.

I want the light at night when I get off work so I can work outside.

Keep DST year round!

I'm with you...terribly disturbed about the whole changing the time. Personally, I prefer to go to bed when it's dark out. I think having it light out at 10pm totally unnatural. I will be getting my flashlight back out for morning chores b4 work come Monday...it was so nice having light in the morning but bye bye. I have written every politician about this to no avail except getting unwanted emails and phone calls about different subjects. I will sigh the petition...

I don't see how it saves electricity anymore anyway. Most all factories and conveniant stores stay open 24/7. A town is never quiet at nights anymore. So where does it save? Lets just keep it at real time and deal with it.

I hate it because the kids are going to bed when it is still light out. When school is in session they go to bed around 9:00 & have a hard time sleeping because it's still light. I just wish thy'd leave it the same time all year round. I hate changing all of the clocks & it takes forever to adjust after losing an hour of sleep. My internal clock is still on winter time & so are the goats.

The decision to observe Daylight Savings (or not) is a state issue. You might have more luck contacting your local representatives.

I love it...and would petition for them to spring the clock forward two hours and NEVER let it fall back!

It does not fade the curtains or make the cows stop giving milk.

I don't care if they keep it or lose it. After 25 years working within a Zulu timezone and living in Zulu -6,-7 or- 8, a twice a year change is nothing compared to those four or five resyncs a day I contended with. For ease of time keeping I wore my work watch on one wrist and my home watch on the other military command style.

That doesn't stop petition writers. They want the White House to do things that belong to Congress, the states, even their towns. I haven't seen a petition "to keep those dang kids off of my lawn," but I'd bet there is one.

It saves when millions of individual homeowners don't turn the lights on until an hour later for the times they would normally be at home.
