I used to get buckets that held Enzyme Modified Cheese Product. The smell was like feet, but really concentrated. I let them sit out in the sun and rain for months, dumped them out once in a while, that mostly took care of it.

Now I just get frosting buckets from Festival Foods bakery!

If the smell is still there, it will get into your food. We had mince meat-tasting milk for a year. Yuck! Put them out in the sun. Wash them with lots of baking soda and leave the soda in them for a while. Put them back out in the sun. Pray.

lemon juice or vinegar will help along with the sun, something we haven't seen alot of here in Ky!

Line them with a mylar bag.

Ditto the baking soda, letting them sit in direct sunlight for a few days. If that fails, the mylar bags will do the trick.
