The main page fonts and banners are fuzzy to me. I have Safari as a browser, which might make a difference. I like the artwork and design, fits with rebelrise, just needs to be crisper and clearer.

Did you post this in the computer forum as well? Might get some tech advise there.

Clicked all the boxes too. Seems moderately fast, have seen many slower. Is slow on the back up but that might be an explorer thing. Nice site.

Fast, which I like, I have Safari. I don't understand going to the "homepage". There's nothing there, then you have to click on "about us". That first page you sent us to is really the homepage. From there, click "about us". I think you need to state what the site is all about on the first page/homepage. It only needs to be one line. "Our adventure in homesteading", for instance. Or "living in the country and off the grid". I really have no idea what your site is all about, and I'd like to know when I download the first page.

Maura I understand that.
I'm just working on functionality and trying to wrap my head around this coding.
I have a lot to do, but some great Ideas.
Last 4 or 5 hours was trying to figure a good way to embed video on a page.
actually still working on it.
Think I have something though. looks pretty good, except one thing and its driving me nuts!

Most folks visiting will know its about our place and the rest will figure its under construction.

Kind of interested in what happens when I hit my max of daily hits?
its just a free host with my domain.
By the way I've been testing live code all day also, so things will be changing here and there.
Mostly on the Homepage link.

up to 97% the host already shot me a email to upgrade.
LOL.
I can see the weakness in the free hosting, daily hits.
I have everything on less then 90 mb of storage and out of 97% of daily allowed hits I have served less the 70 mb.
Got a feeling I will be getting another email stating my soon to be overage.

One Last share and another Big thank you,
My webhost sent me this,
"Hi there,

Thank you for hosting your website with us for free!

We allow a free hosting account 20,000 hits per day."

"Your site(s) on this hosting account has exceeded this daily limit, and will be reactivated from 00:00AM EST.

When re-enabled you can keep check on your hits used in the control panel (on the left bar there is a bar graph showing your current daily hits used)."

That means my website still under construction had 20,000 Hits on Day One!
Thats cool.

In less then 12 hours , 20,000 or more Hits (its deactivated, people may still be clicking.)
that's over 1600 a hour? WOW!

I know after posting here that's where a good bit of those numerous hits came from!
I again thank the HT Family, both the members and nonmembers (lurkers) for the server work out. As well as a really appreciated handshake to those who where able to post feedback. Its Invaluable.

I just ask people to understand this is a free hosting solution and building sites is not my specialty. I'm learning though.
after I get the site set up the way I want, I will get a paid plan. That should eliminate server outages. Until then when my hit count exceeds limit, my site will be redirecting to my web hosts sale page until limit reset.

In spite of my criticism, I'm impressed with the site. It looks like it will develop into something cool.

Loaded OK for me except the "about" page. Got a note that said not there yet? Otherwise, loaded good. The front banner looks fuzzy to me too....at the top but I think that might be the art form.

When we first set up our web site, there were so many changes. Finally we stopped updating the web site and my son's use Facebook most of the time. Have to get busy on it.

Good luck!
