Looking for an app, but I can't figure out how to search for it

Hopefully someone might know of such an app...

I'm looking for one that will help us keep track of what we have at the farm, and what we need to bring for the next trip... Kind of like a camping list app...

Has anyone seen anything similar to this? It would have food stocks, clothing, linen, tools, materials and such...

It would be nice not to have to write everything down all the time.. just check or uncheck boxes...

yes, I could make up an Excel sheet like that, but it's so much easier to just load an app on our tablet and go...

I went to the Android market and searched for "camping checklist". Found several apps for $0.99. I also went on google and performed the same search and glanced at the first one that popped up. It is more of a print and check off but fairly detailed.

App is the term for the small online computer programs for tablet computers (iPad, Android) or smart cell phones.

Tho Apple applies it to their Mac computer software as well of late, I'm sure more and more it will mean any software program.

SS - sorry. App is short for application. As Rambler so aptly describes above it is just a program that operates on a tablet or smart phone. An example would be the Kindle app or Nook app for reading books. As you said, there are MANY that are just computer games but there are also many out there designed to perform simple functions for you.

There are different inventory apps that will keep track of everything you have on hand if you want, but I haven't seen any that would cross reference with a list. Your best bet might be separate inventory and shopping/trip list apps.

Yeah.. looked at a couple of those already.. just doesn't have the stuff we want or need in it...

I did find one called Prepper Survival that looked to be EXACTLY what I was looking for, But it was real poorly executed.. It would let you put in a location, then create categories, like clothing, tools, supplies, food... Then you could search for items and put those in, then put how many on hand, then how many minimum and it would give you a list of what needed restocking...

The person that created it has the perfect idea in their head of what I'm looking for, just no clue how to execute the idea and make the app flow easily... It was real convoluted trying to add things and link them to categories and location, then get a report of what you needed...

This is the one I found.. after looking at the video, maybe I need to look at it again... Take a little bit to set up, but I think the idea is great.. I'll know what size boxes of drywall screws I have in my screw cabinet... hhhmm..

Well the one above is a piece of junk... It crashes and won't reopen...

I did however find a really nice one that I can adapt to do more than just food... It's called Out of Milk...

It has a huge list of items, you can input items by voice or barcode, or type it in.. You can set up pantry categories... It has a todo list, um... Oh.. you can put in prices so when you go shopping you can compare old prices to new, manages your coupons, and more..

I'll adapt it by adding categories to keep track of linens, clothes, tools, and building materials we have out at the house... It allows you to put in item on hand and level to restock at..

You didn't say what platform you need. How about a simple task list app? I use "Things" and really like it.

Apple only though.

Sorry.. was looking for Android... That looks like a decent app, but I need the ability to keep track of groceries too.... The Ot of Milk one I found seems to fit the bill real well for what I need, and it's nice I can enter things in by barcode or voice.

Um.. that's cool.. but not a pantry and shopping app... Me and my wife have been together long enough that we like a little time apart.. Avacado seems to kinda defeat that...
