What's the summer weather suppose to be like?

Has anyone heard of any long range forecast for the coming summer months?

I've been pondering on starting up my own lawn mowing business. But the way the last few summers have been around here, it aint much of a lucrative business anymore. Too much drought!

I'm thinking of making my living by doing seasonal work and the lawn mowing business is one of them. It would cost me a good chunk of money if I start out with a Zero turn mower and a new trailer to haul it with. I don't want to spend that kind of money if we're still in a drought!

People I know around here make a living by .mowing with triming with it. They also trim bushes in the proper seasons. Businesses have need of landscape care on a regular basis. They also will contract to have their snow removed without notifying you when it's needed. This usualy includes sidewalks (early)
If you get a business up and going you will have to have someone helping you. Some nights will be short if it snows a lot.

The way things are going, learn what plants will do well with the least water, and learn how to landscape with them. If it is hot and dry out or if the water supply dries up (that is what is predicted) then you can make those yards look nice without a mower and be very busy.

I heard that it will start out cool, with a few rain showers. Later, it will be hot and dry. There will be a chance of rain (30%) every third day. BVut it will only actually rain on the days that you have hay down and drying, By late summer, after plants have matured and pastures have been eaten to the ground, we will get a good soaking rain every other day until the population asks, " When will it ever stop raining?" Then it will stop raining, it will be snowing.

Politically Correct Bigotry and Intolerance

I've missed out on a lot of craziness and blind rage, solely because I've just not found anything to get overly excited about. But, I ain't missing out no more! I've discovered and patented my own form of bigotry, Zonism. Based on USDA Hardiness zones, already government approved, by the "US" in "USDA" You can go here and put in your zip code to find out for sure which zone you're in.
A a Zone 7ist(or just plain Sevenist) it's my jobligation to talk about how good things are in zone 7, and now glad I am I'm here and not somewhere else. I'm not too sure about putting down people in other zones, calling them names like "Whatsa matter, you a One-ist or something?" That seems to be a little unnecessary. Still, I'm a Sevenist. To be exact, a 7A-ist. Not to be confused with those poor 7B-ist. Not that there is anything wrong with them. Some of my best friends are 7B-ists.

I'm also wondering if it's OK to be intolerant of people who are intolerant. As a corollary, would it be OK to be intolerant of people who are tolerant of others' intolerances. Or, intolerant of others' tolerances. As a Sevenist, I am tolerant of other people from different zones, of course. Some people from other zones may be intolerant of other people from other zones. Thank the Lord I'm a Seven(A)ist though, and I just ain't like that. I do feel bad for others, in their non-seven zones. But I don't hate them or anything like that.

If Zonism gets really ugly, I'm sure it will eventually become outlawed. Or else, have it's own political party. I hope we Sevenists never get that pathetic though.

Those of us in zone 4 can expect more hours of daylight than those summer-in-the less- daylight zone 7 people. I keep track of those that gloated about their February temps. Then in August, I tell them how unbearably hot it is here in zine 4, " My gosh, we are just roasting here. Got up to 80 the other day. Don't know what we would have done if it weren't for that breeze off the lake......"

I'm predicting it will be warmer than winter. There might even be liquid water for months on end. Then things will freeze back up properly and the snow will once again cover all that unsightly dirt and grass.

My husband is predicting another hot, very dry summer. He is really good at his weather predictions, so I think that is what it will be. He's been right about last summer and the past two winters not to mention so many years before that.

If you actually want to make money do not go into lawn care. You will have to compete for business with illegal aliens. They work so cheap that I honestly don't know how they cover their expenses much less make a living. Remember, you have to pay for gas, truck payments, truck ins., a trailer, mower, weed-eater, blower, weed-eater line, oil, equipment repair...ect.

My husband used to do landscaping and yard work for a living. Working that hard out in 100-105 degree heat= not fun & sometimes downright dangerous.

Oh, and you may need to have someone to work with so that your equipment doesn't get stolen out of your truck when you go into the back yard....
