Snappers are taking my goslings

Snappers are taking my goslings. Whats the best way to correct the situation?

uhhh do you mean Snapping turtles? If so I belive here where I live Snapping turtles are endangered species

...............If, it's a small pond, then I'd try a strong hook with stink bait or fresh meat. Use a hook big enough to eliminate the fish you wan't to keep...Then just pull them into shore and shoot them in the head. ...fordy...

I'd remove the goslings from the pond.

Similar situation. After three years trying our geese finally hatched some goslings. They paraded their little gaggle of 5 goslings from the pond down to the puddle near the house. then wednesday there were 4, and friday there 3 so I investigated the pond and found there were an unusually large number of big water moccasins. So I got my rifle and stood on the bank and waited for them to come up for air. I dont think snappers at least the big ones can figure out how to get to the pond since it is fenced with cattle panels, and the gate is by where the dog can get

Shoot the snappers or trap them.I'd shoot them. Bait em with chicken heads & shoot em with a .22.

you can also build a floating cage for the goslings to swim in , that will keep the snappers and larger fish from eating the little geese.

I do this every year,I got a spool of cord and turtle hooks.The bait and tackle store will tell you what you need.The hooks are about 2 inches long,just an idea to let you know how big a hook youll need.I buy the chickenn gizards and hearts from the grocery.and let them set out, fresh is fine too they will last longer if you use them fresh it might take longer to catch your turtle.The stinkier the better.I tie cord around the nearest tree or anchor in the ground,and then about 25 of cord out and wrap the cord through the handle of an empty milk jug and at the end of the 25 foot the from the milk jug handle I go 3 more foot of cord and put my hook.Bait it and watch the jug bobble like a bobber.Check every day and see if you got one and when you do take a sledge to the head.
