The price looks outrageously expensive to me especially for pine.

I purchased my logs, had them milled into lumber saving six inch "logs" like the ones shown, cept mine were 16 and 20 ft long, and diameter varied from 14 inches at the small end of the smallest log to over 28 inches at the big end of the largest. If memory serves me correctly it cost me about 5 grand for the logs, having them delivered and the guys with portable mills to come out and mill them for me. I got enough logs to build our 20x42 1 1/2 story house, plus ceiling joists, rafters, and a LOT of 1" lumber. Enough to build the roof, upstairs floors, doors and windows etc. 8 grand just for short length logs seems a bit pricey to me, but then depending upon what a fellers time is worth, and how much change they have in their pockets at the moment, it might pay to look at them.

Mostly Red Pine and some White Pine ....... Red Pine is not a good choice ....much worse than White Pine

Died outside 3 years then under roof for 5. ....... They are grey stained because of drying outside .... should have been under the roof immediately and probably 2 years would dry them.

...... Not a good deal ..... take your money and find a little more and buy cedar.

I have lots of experience cutting and sawing Red Pine .... has poor rot resistance and tries to crook and twist when it dries. Still I saw it when it is free.

Well, it's about 4500 bdft of wood. I'd think a buck/bdft would be a real good return for the sawyer since pine logs can be bought all day long for 30 cents bdft and the sawn lumber (here) normally sells for 50-70cents/bdft. He is asking nearly twice that at 'discount', which probably explains why it isn't selling.

Rough cut soft woods is 40-50 cents here

He only slabed 2 sides .... you can yield a lot of bd.ft. in a day sawing that way.

.... wonder how he debarked

.... also wonder if it is full of Powder Post Beetles
