who makes Viniger?

I decided if I want to drink I need to make it, but then that also got me thinking of Vinegar.
I love Vinegar , almost as much a I like to drink.
It adds flavor and that tang and zip.
Has a lot of uses also.
Just curious how many purposely make Vinegar and what type.

can one of the mods fix my titles typo?

not now, but once my apple trees, which aren't even in the ground yet, start to produce, I'll be making vinegar. I too love the flavor and 1000 uses.

We accidentally made 80 gallons of apple cider vinegar last autumn. Friends filled their truck with apples and invited us to spend a day making apple juice for cider. We pressed all the juice and then the weathersuddenly turned really hot, so it became vinegar instead. Oops. Nice in salad dressing though...

I made it once from vegg and fruit peelings. it is was ok. You can make a lot of vinegar with not much material. I plan to go back and try again when I have free time.

I was just searching for this myself. I use vinegar for everything. I have so many cats dogs and kids that i need it for everything from washing clothes to cleaning to cooking. I don't use store bought cleaners so I use vinegar.

I'll check out that link that was posted. Any tips from people who have made it already?

We make a barrel of apple cider then when it gets too hard we add a little mother to it from last years vinegar and let it go to vinegar. It is stronger than store bought but works better with less for cleaning. All my animals get it twice a week in their water buckets....James

We got some mother, and cultured it into: one for red-wine vinegar, one for malt vinegar, and one for Apple-Cider vinegar.

We make and stock these three types of vinegar.

In my past wine making days I did manage to produce some great vinegars. Stopped producing both (wine and vinegar) in 1996 although I know I still have a few bottles of wine vinegar sitting on a shelf in the celler.
Hummm, thanks for reminding me of them.....
