lifting a pellet stove

When mine was put in, they just put a cheap fake wood looking fireboard, or whatever it's called.....
Now that I know this stove will stay, how to lift it so I can insert one of those hearth rugs or even a large flat shale rock?

I dont know if I have a block and tackle, but how to lift it off floor completely? Is that the only way?

I have been kind of halfway thinking on it.....since I have a bit extry cash to get a hearth rug now, I'd like to do it, easily.

I'd keep the cheapo board, but, it's too long, ugly and it kind of curls up at the end that sticks out into the room. Bumped my toe on it couple times, and makes me feel very evil.
I thought of framing it in, but it's still ugly, and still sticks out too far. Plus, I dont know if framing it in would make it lay down at the end that curls up......

How to lift easily?

I would get a couple of 4x4s slide them under the stove (parallel with one another). take two shorter 4x4s and lay them under the parallel ones (at both ends). Put a scissor jack under each short 4x4, and start lifting. The jack will lift the short 4x4, and that in turn will lift one end of the pair of 4x4s. Have someone help you at the opposite end. You'll only need to cleat the stove an inch or so off the fireboard. Slide the ugly one out, and put whatever you're going to replace it with, in. Then lower your stove back down. You might want to disconnect your stove pipe as even an inch might not be so forgiving. Good luck.

depending on floor material you might be able to screw the turn up to the floor

I wouldn't try to lift it straight up, I would disconnect it and move it out of the way completely. I have moved various wood stoves with a basic hand truck without to much trouble. Leverage is your friend!
