Another i need help, what is it?

I know this most likely a Red Cross flag, about 3'X5' and commercialy made. It is old and worn and some small holes. Looks to have been used a great deal. Lots of browning and faded at the bottom. I am wondering if maybe this could have been used in one of our older wars for notification of an aid station. Bought this at a flea market a few years back and found it today and thought I would ask here first.

It could be a war leftover. It does look like one used in military medical units. The creases look like it was never used, but it would have flown over something like a MASH unit to let atteckers now that the unit wasn't combatant.
