I doubt that it is a scam. The corn is beautiful. But, you do understand that the corn in the pictures is transluecent because it is fresh picked. it doesn't look like that after it dries.

yeah I understand that but its still pretty enough for me to grow, I really enjoyed my earthtones dent last year, so figured I will give this a try this year, and seeing as how the seed is so limited right now thought that it was worth the price

I was just thinking. In my day, when I was a kid, I could have, but never did, buy one of those klidascope things that has colored shapes that make geometrical designs when the front end is turned. Its a 2 tube deal. you hold the long tube to your eye and turn the shorter outside tube.
ANYWAY
Looking at those ears of corn. I could see where great grandpa could go down to the corn crib and find those ears, and turn them for somewhat the same effect. There sure pretty

Does anyone know if this corn is tasty? Is it fit for feed? or just for pretty?
It is very interesting to look at, for sure.

We picked up what we think is glass corn at a local Amish Market. I don't think that the lady behind the register really knew what they had. The corn had been dried, still on the ear, and bound together in threes as fall Thanksgiving table decoration. They were selling them for three for a $1. We cleaned out the whole lot. They thought we were crazy. A guy behind me in the checkout line, in a very slow southern drawl, actually said to me, "You know that you don't eat those, right?" Clueless. We thought we struck gold.

Not sure if they will grow, but we are going to try them. My hope is that they weren't lacquered. My DH swears they weren't...

We always called the callico corn Indian Corn. It is very common around here. I don't know if your glass corn is the same thing or not.. The pictured ears above looked the same. Google has it listed under Callico Indian Corn.

its quite similar but not the same thing glass gem corn has only been around for a few years and is in very limited supply. I wouldnt be surprised if it did however originate from the calico indian corn

It's a grinding corn for corn meal according to the information.

I looked into it a couple weeks back. As much as the seed brings, there is no way Id grind or feed it, but if you could get some good seed in your hands and make a decent crop, you could make a few bucks easy, selling seed.

That's what I decided... I'm a fan of sweet corn though, so I'm ordering a purple variety

Like I said earlier, this could be a money maker if you can get the seed stock to start.

I looked at this yesterday and the bid was $10. Now look.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:B:WNA:US:1123

Thats for 100 seeds folks.
