Troy Bilt Tiller Parts?

Does anyone have a suggestion where I can buy parts for my Troy Bilt Horse. We used to have a guy here, but he left town. I'm looking to order seals for the transmission - tine seal, wheel seal, shaft seals & gaskets. Looking for a honest parts dealer to order from online.

If you have a recommendation, I'd sure appreciate it!

I have a guy so I don't know where he gets them. But I have to say I sure understand your desire to keep yours running, if it's one of the old ones. Mine dates to 1980, and we still have her in use. My guy said to do whatever needed; there isn't much out there that can touch the quality of the old ones. I have to agree.

The Horse model hasn't changed all that much. I bought a three year old one this spring and it is nearly the same as the one I bought in the late 80's. Part numbers may have changed, etc, but the cast iron is still the same.

Parts Tree - this is the page for my tiller. You can enter your own model number on the left side of the page.

Sears Parts Direct - this is the page for my tiller. You can enter your model number in the box in the upper screen.

Chalmers Industries - this is the best price I've found for a set of tires for my tiller.

It's a start.

ETA...forgot to add that my go-to for just about any parts at all is Parts Tree (have ordered many times and have been very satisfied with the parts and service). If they don't have it, I then go to Sears Parts Direct (2nd choice as their shipping is a bit pricey IMO). I haven't ordered from Chalmers yet, but am about to order the tires.

Thanks for all the info. I have an old tiller with a guard on the front. It's from the '70's. I put a new Kohler engine on it back in 2000 and had all the tranny redone by a mechanic. I bough it in pcs. for $75. Rebuilt the tranny, cleaned the carbs. Eventually the engine gave up the ghost. Right now it's just leaking oil, so I probably will take the tranny open and inspect all the gears while I'm at it. Thanks a bunch!

Thanks for all the advice, folks. I really appreciate it.

Well... the more I looked the more confused I got. It turns out my tiller is from spring 1980, right when they made modifications to the horse models. I got lost in a sea of part numbers. Replacement parts number, old part number, new part number etc.

I finally called Custom Parts Inc. and asked for a little advice.

The guy that owns it is named Tim. They specialize in Troy Bilt tillers of all model years. He knows the tillers very well, and worked up a parts list for me. Very friendly service! The price of the parts & shipping was very reasonable. After being so frustrated trying to find the right stuff, it was great to talk to this guy. So glad I found them, as these old parts are getting hard to find!

I want to give Custom Parts Inc. my highest recommendation for anyone who needs Troy Bilt Parts. Now I just need to fix this tiller up so I can get my garden planted early!
