Has anyone converted an add on funicular to a outside type

I am looking at converting a furnace that would typically go in your basement as a add on to an existing furnace and putting it outside in a mini barn(fireproof) and ducting the furnace inside to the existing duct work.
The us stove unit rated outside is 2500.00 and a small inside one is 900.00. Since I own a sawmill the lumber for the mini is nothing except for the metal for the roof, I already have metal for the inside here.
Just wondering if anyone has done this?
