Seed corn prices

Got a catalog from E & R Seed Co. Monroe Ind

They have a doz different OP seed corn. $1.15 a lb for 50#. $1 35 a lb for 25#and $1 65 a lb for 5#

They also have a silage corn that puts as much into the stalk as it does into the ear unlike most corns. This is made for silage. I would not think it would make for fodder, as it is so tall that, after drying off it would become brittle and blow down in high winds.

They call this there roasting ear selection, BUT the varieties are the same as op corn for feed. I suppose they ment that for folks who get their sweet corn out of the corn field, as we did when I was a kid, these are the best varieties for that. Duel purpose, if you will.
