We made low tunnels for our raised beds. I sawed a bunch of rebar into 5" segments, drilled holes on opposing sides of the beds at a gentle angle, tapped in the rebar, and bent UV protected PVC (found in the electrical isle) anchored by the rebar. Cover with greenhouse supply sheeting, and enjoy cool season veggies all winter (I am still harvesting cilantro for tex-mex dishes). Planting in the spring starts a month early, too. Our beds are 4' wide, so a standard 10' section cut in two makes perfect hoops.
