Multiplaz welder

Anyone have one of these? Or used one? It was in Farm Show earlier this year and it looks really handy so I'm considering getting one soon, but I don't know anyone who has actually used one.

I had that same reaction about six months ago, but I fought the impulse to buy one immediately. I'm starting to think of a lot of projects I'm planning for the spring and how nice it would be to have one small machine that can do all this one does, assuming it's as great as they claim. Also, no shielding gas necessary...that could come in very handy if there's ever an interruption in that supply. I may have to be a pioneer in my circle of people, since this thing is pretty new to the U.S. Apparently they've been around for a while in Russia, but I don't have any Russian welders in my contacts...oh well.

Yeah, for all it supposedly does, I was surprised it wasn't a lot more. Some of those high end MIG welders can get up a lot higher and they're really nice for their intended uses but they aren't quite as versatile.

If this machine does all they claim, why aren't all businesses jumping on them?

Maybe all businesses don't know about it. The marketing is pretty terrible. And it's not necessarily the best tool for every job even if everything they say is 100% true. I might just have to take the risk. If it can do half of what they claim, it's probably worth two grand.

I think it would complement a shop But to have it as a one tool does all if it should have one off tick you are SOL all the way around .

Now i have one cutting torch with three large oxygen bottles three stick welders all with less than $500.00 invested

Yeah, I've got O/A torches and stick and MIG welders in my main shop too, but what I really like about this is the portability and versatility, instead of lugging heavy bottles and multiple setups around to all my various projects. For someone who welds a lot (not me) it could actually save money in the long run with not having to keep buying all the gases.

I found a few good reviews on welding forums that seem to be from unbiased people. That's almost enough to make me pull the trigger. Apparently you can go test it out in the company's shop, but it's in Los Angeles...I think I'd rather risk it than spend time and money there.

Further research found some neutral-bad reviews from people who tested the welder, so I'm back on the fence about it. I may have to go out there and test it myself in a couple months. Thanks for the input so far. Still interested if anyone here has any experience with this tool.
