Tuff-Bilt

Anyone seen this? What do you think? I'm interested. The company seems viable, at least he answered my email, and says he is running a two week build schedule presently . There are also some outside YouTubes on Google that show it in action. Might just replace my 9N....http://www.tuff-bilt.com/index.htm

Design is very similar to an Allis-Chalmers "G"

The Tuff-Bilt seems like a good platform for mini farming. A front and rear lift(Cat. O three point) and enough framework to mount a cab for all weather use, and enough power for transport back into the woods, a carry all, etc. The engine and hydraulics are off the shelf stuff, like the Kohler engine.

Depending on the amount of power, I could replace my nearly worn out 9N and avoid the cost of the overhaul(about $3000) that it would take to update it and put that money into something newer.

Trouble with relying on used stuff nowadays is that you are betting your operation on an antique, in most cases--or putting the whole farm(capital) into a $20,000 Kubota. The Tuff-Bilt seems to be a good compromise, at least before I would go down ther and look at it.

Like many old tractors, the Gs have become a "collectors" item and therefore seem to go for a lot more than they would be worth on the open market as simply an older used tractor.

We had one on the farm when I was a kid. They are bad about snapping rear axles when traversing a hill. They do make a great cultivating/truck farming tractor though.
