Yep, every Saturday. Lots of dead wood here. The dry stuff gets brought out in the bucket of the tractor for burning this year and the stuff that needs dry time gets split and stacked in the woods.

Yes, wood cutting time is here. Please don't make me beg for cold weather, though. Had the windows open today.

By the way, what is that sweet red thing I see in your pics?

Thumbs up

Oh, yes...we have been cutting a LOT! The other day we had to rent a log splitter....but in 6 hours, we was able to split 6 ricks of white oak. All donated! The hunks were so big around....a few of them we was able to get 30 pieces from ONE log! U guys busy cutting wood? - Homesteading Questions

Finished up day after Thanksgiving......
According to local pricing, $200-$250 for a "full" cord, I've got well over $1,500 sitting in my barn....... drying.

I cut some firewood during the summer, but I dont cut it all. I leave some for winter. It gets me out of the house every day, otherwise I might just hibernate.

Just split up 10ton, had 8ton more delivered and another 8ton coming Friday.
This load had quite a few saw logs so I pick them out.
I use a 3pt splitter

I just can't do it in the summer. Too hot, and too many bugs. I've never been cold more than 5 minutes with a chain saw or splitting maul in my hands, even if it's 30 below.

Geez, you guys have it good getting those logs in your yards to cut up.

We generally cut all we need in October and November before the snow comes. We cut and split it in the woods to keep the mess out of the yard area. Then haul it in and stack it.

The firewood we cut this fall is for the 2015-2016 heating season.

We're still getting around to it, but luckily for us we haven't had a lot of cold yet.
