when to pick?

I have a peach tree in my yard that is covered in fruit. Most is still green. Some have yellow tinges and a few have red traces starting. All are still hard as rocks. So how do I know when to pick them?

Pick them when they are ripe enough to eat but before they get very soft. If you want to keep them around a few days before you can or freeze them, pick them a couple days sooner. They will ripen some after they are picked, but don't pick them when they are really hard.

Time to pick.

When you start seeing a lot of bird damage, the peaches are ripe and it is time to pick.

You have peaches almost ready to pick in May!!?!?! (Insert very unchristian thought) My trees just flowered and I havent got a thing yet here in Illinois. Fresh peaches in May. Now thats heaven. Im jealous.
