Kudzu bugs ??

OK...they are seeking shelter in my busted wood in the shed due to cooler weather !! When I bring my wood in, wheel barrow load at a time, they are coming alive inside the house due to the warmth. Anybody got any suggestions ?? And to thoughs of ya'll that don't have them.......... yet !! Knock on wood and pay close attention to the spread of them !! Lady bugs don't hold these creatures a light !!! And I didn't mention the smell !!!

Short of fumigating the pile under plastic I'm afraid you may have to resort to hauling from the wheelbarrow parked on the porch rather than bringing it all in.

bugs?? this was brought up a few months ago and I've never heard or seen such an insect. I pick blossoms for jelly and pull vine for baskets. However, apparently in some areas there is such a bug. I think what you are talking about is what we call a stink bug and they do stink. Usually here in N. Mississippi we see them more this time of year. I guess if you know each piece off before loading. The have an awful smell.

They are calling them kudzu bugs over here. They eat kudzu. They have been all on the news here due to them being invasive and causeing havoc to the soy bean crops. Clemson Univ. has been paying them attention for a couple yrs now. They look like a small lady bug but are brown. And fly like one. We see them begining in the spring through the fall. They seek refuge from the coolness just like a lady bug.

Kudzu beetles is what we have been calling them - I have seen some with similar colors to the lady bug too - if they sit still long enough, look at the bottom of the shell and see that it isn't rounded like a ladybug, but instead more squared off

Kudzu bugs and stink bugs are 2 different bugs, but both have been all over the news in the past few months, even on the news up here in Canada. There was a report on the news last night here about the plague of both kudzu bugs and stink bugs that are infesting the south east states and now pushing to the west into the plains states and the north into Canada. The only plus with the kudzu bugs is that apparently in the past 2 years they have eliminated nearly two-thirds of the kudzu that is growing in Georgia.

Kudzu bugs and stink bugs do both carry stink bombs.

Some diatomaceous earth spread around on our wood pile should help kill them off. If you have a tub or something similar you keep in the house to put your wood in, you can spread some of the diatomaceous earth around in it too...

Yes, diatomaceous earth is what I would suggest too. Also read some things about the Osage Orange aka Hedgeapple. Might try those too.
Hurry up and get them wiped out, before they reach here that bad. I did see some stink bugs on my tomato plants at the end of the bearing.

Are ya'll talkin about diatomaceous for the kudzu bugs or the stink bugs ??

Last night, I would blow them away with the leaf blower as I pulled the wood from the stack.
