Junk Find--what is this? Pics.
I have had this for some time and dug it out of the barn today and still don't know what it was used for or appears to be a bank with a heavy back that is gone. CI about 15 pounds worth. Has a place for lock and some of you maybe can read what is on it. Some words are Buffalo Mfg. and someting novelity. It did or appears to have hung on the wall or somewhere like that. About 8"x8". Mouth is large like to drop someting in there besides money, but the top has a coin slot?

Thanks for the help, and I know everyone has one of these laying around the house somewhere.

No, not for harness, have some harness hooks. Know about harness, dad made harness and made the harness for the OU mascot horses, Boomer and Sooner. ( I have newspaper clipping of him making them) huge pic. I will say that this was mounted to a heavy back plate that is gone and it looks as if it had an ear that stuck out at the bottom for a lock.. It looks more like it was used maybe for a coin toss of some type maybe, maybe an early day carnival thing. As smart as all the HT people there must be someone out there that knows.

I have done that before and nothing on it at the time. Thanks again, that is what is good about HT, someone will know or find out most of the time.

One of the first coin-operated vending machines, I assume just a full jar of perfume under the coin slot, hold one hand underneath and drop in a coin and the coin displaces perfume out onto your hand, bigger the coin, the better (or worse) you smell.

DaleK, I did the yahoo search and found several, including one that sold for 10,000 this year + 2500 buyer fee. There is also a video from a vending arcade site that shows how one operates. The horns had to be pumped up and down to spray the perfume. Good video. Iwill have to check again, I don't think the horns will move on mine. Maybe used for something else. Will get back with you. The one I looked at had a lower jaw, not sure if mine had one or not, will be at the barn shortly and will look. Like to have the 10,000 one!!, but it takes a lot more to be complete, if I have that part of one.
If it was a bottle opener, I don't know where you would have put the bottle, the opening in the mouth is about 3"+ opening.

Well, I had a chance to research this again, based on the help I recieved here on HT (great knowledge). I found one on youtube that shows how it works. Found one that sold for 12000 counting buyers fee. and some presale estimate of 24,000. One of the first vending machines. I know that mine has the mirror and automizer is missing. Maybe I will be able to sell it to someone who needs the bull part that I have.
