Interesting Craigslist ad if you're looking for cattle in NE AL

The ad had been flagged this morning. An old skin and bones cow would bring about 50 cents a pound.
Why did they say they were free?

Very odd ad, don't know I'd respond to the way that was worded.

I suspect one of those false ads where someone is playing a dirty trick on the owners of the cattle.

That happens sometimes with residences. Someone will run an ad saying "all furniture is free, help yourself" When they don't actually own the house or the furniture.

We regularly have "free" goats, cattle, pigs, etc showing up on CL. If you answer it, you only get an upgrade in spam emails. Or it's a practical joke. I thought all CLs would have the same things going on....
