Drain Pool Into Farm Pond

We have a 10K gallon, above ground swimming pool, that's neared the end of it's first season. We could drain it directly into our pond, which could use the water.

It has not had any pool chemicals added in several weeks and does have algae growing in it.

Should this be safe to drain into a pond?

Any problem with the pool water possibly being hotter than the pond?

Mine is in the same condition as yours... Im not sure about how much rain yall have had but weve had what I would think would be enough to dilute the chemicals..

Do yall have one of the test strips?

I wouldn't worry about it. One of the reasons you have to keep adding chemicals is because they don't stay in the water. If the water is already green then I'd say any chemicals you had in there aren't going to bother anything in the pond.

How much of a percentage of the pond would it be? If over 50% I would be more cautious. I would probably empty some, wait a few days, empty more, etc, no matter what size pond. That way you won't overpower your pond water. JMO

the pond is 1/4 acre, (usually 1 14' deep spot), but is still down about 3 feet.

I doubt you have any chemicals in the water at this point, should be fine.

The stabilizer and acid stay in the water. It will kill fish.
