Grandmother, what big teeth you have!

My dear wife is home canning three lugs of peaches today. She started at 4AM this morning and has been working hard ever since. While preparing the peaches, she noticed something moving just inside the trees that surround our yard. She could tell it was big and not a deer. After grabbing her camera and sneaking out onto our porch she shot this photo of an adult male timberwolf. We've had timberwolves in our yard before, but were never lucky enough to get a photo. This is the biggest wolf we've seen.

Long legged beast. I am guessing that is part due to a summer coat.

Or maybe young one?

Thanks for the pic!

I surprised that it stood still long enough for a photo. Hopefully after this fall they'll be more cautious.

That is a fantastic experience!!! I envy you guys. Our wolves are not likely to ever recover here in the southeast. Thanks for sharing the picture!!!

Everybody loves peaches. Mr Wolf is hoping you will share some peach jam. Or at least, toss some peach scraps onto the compost pile.

Oh, my ... interesting!

I've only seen one wolf 'in the wild' ever ... that was in MT way back when I was still in my teens. They re-introduced them into Yellowstone and now they've repopulated to the extent that they are no longer on the endangered species list in MT and ID and I understand WY is now taking them off the endangered list.

Great picture. I am always careful with my dog when I am out. He would try to play with them. You may not get another pic because the wolf hunt may make them more wary of people.

We have mountain lions passing through this part of the state occasionally. The state officials tried to deny it but there were too many sightings. What a lucky chance to get a photo.

From my friend Vicki, "Wyoming Wolf policy was approved today:

The announcement Friday by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will entrust the state

with managing wolf numbers and endorses a plan that allows for them to be shot on

sight in most of the state, while keeping them permanently protected in designated

areas like Yellowstone National Park. Wyoming will take over management of the

wolves at the end of September". Just thought some folks might want to know.

Great Picture BTW.
