Outdoor kitchen progress/as of August 23/includes bloopers

Hello everyone. Thanks for the messages and prayers after my Father passed last week. We appreciate the kindness.

Below is the link to the latest photos of the progress in the outdoor kitchen. We included photos of mistakes so that someone can learn from out errors or at least get a good laugh out of it.

The Facebook page and photos are public and so anyone can see the photos and comments even if they do not use Facebook.

This weekend we hope to put the "bones" up for the oven and this time it will have a Cob "skin" over the outside. We decided to use the wood stove for a cook top rather than trying to build the Estufa this time. The new design Cob Oven will go up later (probably October) and we will build the Estufa on the side with the other Cob Oven. We will post photos as we progress.

Thank you for tips and suggestions and for stopping by my son's Facebook pages.

good job congratulations...when DH built my barn it wasn't square all the way either actually he had built it in sections--so he had problems with the tin also. But all these years the tin and barn are still holding up.. When he built his barn things were a lot easier...lol

Cant wait to see when it is done, I would love to have an outside kitchen to can in the summertime. thanks for sharing the pics

well, good, you will have all the kinks worked out so you can come build me one, right? Looks great!

I don't think we are qualified to build anything for anyone else! But, we can tell all the mistakes we have made and maybe folks can figure out how to avoid the same fate. Who knew putting a tin roof on was so hard?

The boys (my sons) are having a Wild Food class out here on Sept. 8th and so the Oven has to be finished by then. They will post more photos as it moves along. Thanks for looking at the photos.

Thanks everyone and thanks to those who hit the "like" feature on my sons's Facebook page too. We picked up some straw, clay, portland cement and....lets see what else.......Perlite today. Tomorrow we put the insulated base down for the Oven and then figure out the recipe for the top.

More photos later.
