Outdoor kitchen progress

If anyone wants to see the photos of progress on the outdoor kitchen, just click on our Facebook link and go take a look. The boys put the base down today for the Oven and moved the bottom cement blocks. We are going to put a "skin" of Cob (adobe type mix) over the dry stack oven this time.

The photos and page are set to "public" so anyone can see them even those who do not use Facebook.

We hope to put the skeleton frame up for the oven tomorrow and buy the straw for the Cob mix. I need to have the oven finished since we have 20 guests coming in 3 weeks for another wild food hunt.

Anyone with suggestions about the Cob mix, please chime in here.

Also, anyone with suggestions about the outdoor kitchen in general. Thanks.

Thank you everyone. I am not sure how long the Cob takes to dry. I am taking advice from a family friend who has build several Cob ovens so far.

I will post photos when we do the Cob part.

PNWKatie: We first made two dry stack ovens. They were easy to do, and we have moved it five times now! Take a look at our photos and you can see the way it was stacked. Easy to do. Cooks great.

Thank you. We love cooking outside and over a wood fire. The kitchen will be used a lot.

Hello to everyone. We just posted the new photos showing the progress of the outdoor kitchen last week. My Father passed away on Saturday and we have been taking care of family time.

I am posting a new thread since this one is outdated. Take a look at the new thread. Thanks.
