Nother E bay question. Shipping, this time

I was looking at buying a rideing garden tractor off of E bay. I had ran up the bid some, when I thought I might better find out wht the shipping from P?Argile Penn to Tulsa would be, so I called up a shipping Co in Tulsa. It would be, they said, $1,485. I fell over and dropped the phone and lost the connection. IS THAT RIGHT??

It probably is right, considering the price of fuel and the distance. If you end up winning the bid, you might be better off renting a Uhaul.

I'd recommend your keeping a look out on Craigslist so it is local. Place a wanted ad there. It's free.

Yep, transportation quote doesn't sound unreasonable. Plus you would have to figure out how to had it delivered locally. (I would ask my local farmers' co-op to hold it for me.)

You can cancel your eBay bid. Go on bottom of page to Site Map and look for link.

Freight is NOT cheap! Unless you win the lottery and really want something big and heavy off Ebay, I'd do my purchasing locally.

Are you sure they would even ship that? Usually things are local pick up , that are that big. And why buy that when you are trying to sell all your stuff?

Is this the garden tractor Bill?? I got curious and searched for 'garden tractors' on Ebay. When I saw this one, I figured it was the one you were interested in buying.

They all say local pickup in the shipping part. Bill you really need to read carefully because if you won, you would be liable for paying for it, even if you couldn't get it.

Actually on that garden tractor I linked to, farther down it did say he would ship. I agree it's best to figure out the terms before placing the first bid; otherwise one could have a very hefty surprise.

Pappy always told me to pick where I scratched.
As dry as OK, is, lawn tractors should be going at bargain prices near your home.
