396 Viewing

I wonder why so many people lurk without joining ? The more the merrier, maybe some of the newer members can answer this question?

When I first came here from the garden forum I lurked for a couple days and happily jumped right in !

Vickie <> If you were already on the garden forum you wouldn't have to register to jump in here would you?
Many people refrain from putting their two cents worth on the board to prevent someone else from trumping you with a nickle.

it took me one day of reading to know i wanted to join so i did.
i could tell that the single day activity was high and i really like the discussions going on here. i even put HT on my tapatalk app.

i know a lot of people like to lurk for a while, make sure the site gets enouigh traffic/action to be worthwhile, but it's pretty obvious that this site has a lot to offer.

I lurked, I read, I soaked up information, and didn't register till I realized I wanted to ask a question. That was months after I found the forums. I have so many pages from bookmarked already. I wasn't gardening yet, I wasn't raising pigs, chickens, or calves yet, but I had plans.

some times I dont log in, unless I feel I would like to make a comment or ask a question. There are also times that I dont feel like having a fight with some of those that find errors in what works for me, or they take exception with my thoughts on a matter.

I don't log in if I'm just popping in for a couple minutes from work.

I've been a member for a while and usually get on every night, sometimes for hours. I'm such a info junkie and grand schemer that I spend all my time reading posts and leaving none to actually posting. Same thing with the backpacking forum I used to frequent.

Lurkers? Those are those alphabet soup agencies gathering information and planning to steal our zucchini's when the SHTF! They can't sign in and risk revealing their identity!

Sometimes, if you google certain questions, a thread on a forum will come up.

Some folks just come here to answer a single question and once that's done, they leave.

I forget how I arrived here but I'm glad I did. I've learned a ton.

Sometimes I feel like HT is like looking in a mirror.

There are times that I just enjoy reading. Other times I let the boy come out--most times.

A few times I say something that I feel is worthwhile and contributing.

I just enjoy the community and I read just about every post in all departments...at least skimming. I read our community newspaper in about two minutes or less. It is not nearly as much fun.

I hope you have fun too.
