The bright side
After 62 days without rain, I'm grasping at straws here so help me out.
When the secound load of laundry is washed the first is ready to come off the line.
The trees I am cutting down for the sheep will be next years fire wood
Few mosquitoes and ticks
I'm getting an awesome farmers tan
I can turn the hot water heater off
No sweetcorn for the coons to destroy
A cold beer never tasted better.

You can get your outdoor painting done.
Gutters aren't overflowing into your basement.

It's really hard for me to be optimistic when we are in the midst of a long dry spell. I need rain to keep my spirits up.

Wish I could share 2.5 inches last night on our ridge.

I havent had to mow the lawn in a month.
Its a good excuse to drink a lot of iced tea and eat freezer pops.
Good excuse to not cook food. Sandwiches and salads prevail.
The only clothes to wear are loose and comfy ones, undies optional.
Thats about it as far as I can see.
Fewer mosquitos, but the fleas are concentrated and the frogs want to come in the house.

Don't have to rush to get sheets off the line. Although it is hot and dry enough they might catch fire if I leave them out too long.
Manure/waste hay is nice and dry and weighs less when I move it.

We didn't have much hay to pick up and haul to the barn. We'll get to pay someone to do that for us now. So we didn't need to buy so much Ben Gay this year.

No earwigs creeping around in the bathroom in the morning to greet you.
No mosquitoes to pester you in evening.
Amazing sunsets to watch.
I'm stretching here.
No musty, curious smells in the basement or crawlspace.
No potato rot!!!
Remember the soggy cold spring and mucking around in the mornings tryng to get the critters fed in your cold wet boots.
Remember shoveling hundreds of pounds of heavy snow to get to the chicken house or into the barn, or even just into the blinkin' garage!
Listen to the crickets, the grasshoppers and the cicadas. Aren't they awesome? Relish the goldenrod and Joe Pie weed.
Remember the long dark winter days when you thought you would never feel the warm summer sun on your face.
Soak it in. August is only 5 days away. Fall is soon behind.

Oh yes. It is quite a blessing when you slightly step on one in the dark and it pees all over your legs leaping away.
Also, they make big poops. Yes, big squirty ones all around the toilet which 'sweats' and draws them to the moisture.
Not too much meat on leopard frogs, but I will consider them if the SHTF.

NO erosion problems
The leaky roof on the hog house is not a problem
I also don`t mow the lawn as much
the wet spots in the fields are gone
creek fences don`t wash out
don`t have to mow the pastures more than once
cattle yards stay dry
don`t have to wear boots out to do chores
never have to worry about covering a load of hay if left out of the shed
don`t have to empty the rain gauge
> Thanks Marc

And the only problem is I don`t get much sleep as the noise is bad. All I hear all night is buckets clanking together, from the racoons hauling water to the sweet corn. hehe. > Thanks Marc

I am starting to get complacent about leaving stuff out in the elements. I would have never done that before. My dad would shoot me if he saw the fruit of my laziness in the last 30 days.

My hair has waaaay less frizz.
I don't worry about keeping dry on long bike rides.
My truck stays washed.
Much easier to clear weeds from my yard, they are the only things that are green.
Easier to fish when the river is just puddles.
