Anyone else grumpy in this heat?

I yelled at the pushy new pharmacist guy in the drive up window yesterday. Well, darnit, the blast of heat hit me in the face and he was pushing me to give him my name, etc.......

Running 102 today and doesn't look like any change in sight for several more days. When it might rain again is anybody's guess.

How's everyone holding out--how are your animals, too? (I am thankful I have electric power, as so many still don't have any....

Only when I try to talk to people who choose to believe the 2% of climatologists that there is no such thing as climate change and if there is we aren't causing it.

That's when I get grumpy.

I am only grumpy when it is hot, or cold, or wet, or dry, or windy, or calm.

my normally sweet and patient husband is pretty darn grumpy today. He went to Menards and Home Depot by himself this afternoon and got just about everything on our list wrong. He came home in quite the tizzy - declared he hated shopping - and then discovered it was the wrong item, time after time.

I just made a pitcher of watermelon juice and gave him a tall, icy glass full with some vodka added. He smiled. He'll be happier soon.

Yep, and the only person here to be grumpy with is me . . . just grumbled at myself about nothing. Heat . . . relief can come none to soon.

Hope you apologized to the pharmacist. It's not his fault it's hot.

I live where it's hot more than half the year, and I had to learn a long time ago not to snap at people because of it. A little patience and forebearance goes a long way.

I'm usually not too crabby. Nick, though, is from MN, and he believes that we're in the Deep South. Poor guy is sick as a dog today.

I've been more grouchy in the heat as well. Add that my knee is pretty rough for no good reason (perhaps just from old injuries while skateboarding in the 80s? hah) and I have been in a foul mood when out in the heat for long. I prefer to be quiet when in that sort of mood, but my temper is notably quicker and I am not very chatty. Still, it's not as bad as it was over the weekend, so I am glad of that.

Pony,

Tell Nick the heat index in Brainerd was 110 today. It may not make him feel better but it won't make him feel worse.

It's down to 81 now. Today it got up to 94 but my house never got to 83 and that was with a 94 degree wind. Thank goodness for shade trees.

I was tempted to run into Brainerd and get an AC but I held back.

It was 99 here today but real low humidity (comparatively). We had small storms pass to the north and south of us yesterday and we didnt see a drop of rain.

Inside the house though its 68, nice and cool and since its Fire Department FEMA grant time lots of inside time today.
