Question SO: What is the smallest town you have seen a Walmart in?

OK a spin off from my "small town size" thread: What size is a "small town" to you?

What is the smallest population town you have seen a Walmart in?

So far I am at West Plains, MO (12k) and Glenwood Springs, CO (9.5k). Cedar City, Utah (29k). Racking brain to think of any others under 10k.

Where did they put WM at WP? Out on the hwyway? Did it hurt the downtown square business? I spent some time up at the top of the courthouse there once

Kindersley over in western Saskatchewan, has about 4 000-5000 people. Humboldt is slated to get one as well, and they have around 5 600 people.

The thing to remember is here, people drive an hour or two to get to anything with a traffic light, for dr. appointments, tires, bulk oil, feed, or parts, so smaller towwns mean nothing when the service area has 200 000 people. Like Yorkton Sask. They have about 17 000 people, but serve a trading population of a quarter million pretty well.

Marshfield Missouri has 6600 as of the 2010 census and they have a Walmart where we shop sometimes. Its certainly a Walmart but its never crowded and its very laid back.

Thayer, Missouri, has the smallest WalMart store I've ever seen. Population of Thayer is 2,164.

The store in West Plains is old. Been there over a decade at least.

Hobart, Ok. I don't remember the population as it's been several years since I was there. The WM was about the size of the Family Dollar here.

The nearest Wal-Mart from me is in a town called Black River Falls. BRF has a population of 3622 people. It's the smallest town I'ved seen with a full size Wal-Mart supercenter (open 24-7 and a tire center). The town is by itself too, no large towns bordering it.

Jay, Oklahoma. Pop. 2448 County seat of Delaware county.

About 12 - 15 miles away is a Walmart Supercenter in Grove, Oklahoma. Where the population is over 4600.

Jay's walmart is a little bitty one and has been there for many, many, years.
