I don't have one of their hand guns but do have one of their carbines. I like it - not very pretty but utilitarian. I haven't had a need to take advantage of their guarantee but like the fact that you can get a part replaced if you ever have a problem - they are kind of close to me. I've been toying with getting their 9mm hand gun to go along with the 9mm carbine.

Yes, .40 Cal. Its ugly, but was inexpensive and made in the USA, has a no questions asked guarantee and is reliable or mine is anyway.

Have not owned one but shot them a couple times. Not too bad - not tack drivers but acceptable. The price on them is their best point; the weight was a drawback as it felt like a brick. Guess if you ran out of ammo you could always use it for a club. I do not remember the balance being too bad but it was a couple years ago.

Mine shoots great. I can feed it anything and it always goes bang.

As others have said, it really is ugly, but it works.

I have three, two 9mm's and a .40 caliber. I also have a FNH .40 caliber that cost as much as the three Hi-Points together. I like the Hi-points and the shoot just as accurate as the more expensive guns once you get used to them and learn how to shoot them. I had several hang ups when new but after a couple hundred rounds and learning how to shoot them the problem went away.

As far as being ugly is concerned, IMO it depends on which end of the barrel you are on.

Worse than ugly. Hideous. Goes bang every time. Besides, if you run out of bullets in the war, you can beat people with it. People love to hate Hi-points.....but those people have never owned hi-points.

Own three 9mm handguns from Hi point -well the wife owns one and I call one my own the third one is a back up. All three work fine and hit what you aim at never had a FTF in three years of shooting them. Heavy yes, ugly ? Reliable yes. Thinking about a 9mm carbine in the near future.

never owned one but have been told they are a good gun for the money. I talked to the sales rep during the NRA show here back in april about the warrenty and have to admit they are willing to stand behind their product 100% regardless of original owner or not. He said as long as he can read the serial number they will fix or replace it. He said an owner sent a gun in that went through a house fire and was a total loss. The serial number was readable and they gave him a new gun, keep in mind the lost gun was a first generation and this fire had just happened. If you can get past the extreme weight and pure ugliness of the gun they are a great buy for the money. I cannot get past the weight or the ugliness so I won't buy YET.

Here is a pic of a six round shot at 25 yards with my Hi-point .40, the circle is 3 inches across.

I've had a few over the years. I like the .40 personally but that's just me. Heavy, ugly, and reliable. Kinda like an old Dodge pickup truck in a way.
