I don't see anything. Is there a link which I'm missing somehow to click on for a picture? Maybe there is a problem with my old browser or old computer but I don't see anything.

What does the other end of the tube on top look like? Is it threaded?

Used to be that Electrolux Vacum cleaners came with a spray/atomizer atachments. You could spray paint and such. I never saw one, but it would look similar to that.
Nomad and glenn amolenaar like this.

I believe Vicker is on to it. I remember my moms or my grandmothers vacuum having one of these attachments and that it was for putting some air freshner into the air with it, etc.

I think you guys are right. I thought it was some sort of homemade blowtorch, but i guess for 25 cents, vacuum cleaner implements are ok too.
Thanks for knowing everything

I painted a 1954 Ford with that and my mother's Electrolux Vacuum. The Electrolux had a straight thru fan, and you could hook up the hose to the fan end to use it as a blower. Did a pretty credible job, a little better than Earl Scheib. I can imagine the sprayer was more likely intended to spray the house with DDT, though.....

It's a paint sprayer made to be used with a vacuum cleaner as the power source.

I'm not guessing. i know that is what it is.

Mine also goes on the vaccuum to spray -- but the machine has to be able to switch to blow, not suck!

I've used it to spray soap on carpets.

I have one someplace. Also you could put mothballs in to fumigate closets and gas yourself at the same time.

Earl Scheib..Any car any color for $29.95.. Now that takes me back to the olden days in Philadelphia. Had a couple cars painted there and it was actually a pretty good paint job on those cars too. Memories....
