QUICK question about clothing????!!!

In men's clothing they have buttons on the right, button holes on the left and women's have their buttons on the left and button holes on the right.

Is this when your wearing the shirt OR as you look at the shirt on the hanger?!?

Many of my shirts have the pearly snaps, on the front, rather than buttons. Lots easier to close than buttons & button holes, in the morning when your slightly arthritic fingers are slightly stiff. I love Wrangler western shirts. Oh, the backs are on the right and the fronts are on the left, on guys' shirts.

I wear T-shirts, no buttons. I guess that one polo shirt does have 3 buttons but I never use them. My left hand has one bendable finger, the little one....not much use in buttoning a shirt. Somehow I do manage to button the Rustlers with my right hand and the ring finger and thumb of my left. Good thing I am skinny....James

What they told you, is from the inside looking out. You have the (male) shirt on, the buttons are on the right flap, the left-side flap with button-holes goes over them, then the buttons come up through it.
This is the opposite of a ladies blouse, where the the button-hole flap is on the right, and comes over the button-flap from the left.
To get sexist for a moment, and looking from the inside of the short you're wearing, buttons on right, you're upright. Buttons on left, you're all cleft.
Give any boy over about six years old something that buttons like a blouse, and he'll never forgive you. Unless of course he's bent that way. Never ever. Ever ever. Not a bit. Never.

If you like the shirt, it doesn't matter.

With a man's shirt you should be able to stick your right hand thru the shirt's front opening to reach your sword hidden inside. That's the only way I can remember it

That wouldn't do me any good ... most of my shirts are men's shirts. LOL

Interesting. I helped out at a rummage sale last week & this question kept coming up while sorting clothes. Seems like few people (male or female) pay attention to buttons any more.
