What would you do with 4 qts of cream?

We milk a jersey and have lots of cream. The kids used to just drink it in with the milk but now are on a health kick and want just skim milk to drink. I hate throwing it away so what would you use it for? I'm looking for something easy!
Thanks, Happy

If they keep up with the new research, they need to drink whole milk, not skim.

1 pint for butter, 1 for icecream, 1 for yogurt and 1 for cheese. Put a pint in a quart jar with a marble and shake it. A pint for icecream, mix ingredients and put in 2 ice cube trays and freeze, remove, mix until smooth and add fresh fruit. 1 pint for yogurt and 1 for farmers cheese....James

Your kids need the fat for proper brain development! Drink the cream! Don't cut back on *real* fat, cut back on crap fat and sugar and processed stuff! That's the best health kick around!

Sounds like you need a pig or two. I wish I had your problem... and a pig or two.

Sour cream!! Just add a couple of tablespoons of live-culture buttermilk to some cream and let it set in a warm spot for a few hours.

Long-term - butter, enriched cheeses.
Immediately, ice-cream, clotted cream (simplest).

Butter. Get instructions (easy) from internet. Ice Cream. Yoghurt. Convince kids that whole milk is really better for you because the cream has at least some of the vitamins.

Alfredo sauce
Make some butter, melt with equal amount of flour, add cream to thin, when hot turn off heat, then add finely grated Parmesan cheese to thicken.

Lots of variants for your favorite cheese.

And go ahead and let the kids drink the cream. If your cow is pastured instead of grain fed, it has a very healthy fat balance in the cream.

I cannot handle too much at once. But I love it. It would probably become icecream with ingredients that I can pronounce, and not being more than 4 or 5 in number.

...in a gallon freezer bag with sugar, vanilla...a little whole milk...and then get some one to help mush it around every half hour until you can't stand it any more...then share it.

I like to skim half the cream Then we still get the beneficial fats, but there's still plenty for butter. And don't overlook fruit with cream poured on top. Delicious!

In order for your body to assimilate calcium, it needs to be at least 2% fat. Leave some of the fat in the milk, make pudding, make ice cream.

Fresh butter is very good! The use the butter to make ghee for cooking and making popcorn.
