Panalling costs question

Wallpaper nowadays is around $3 a foot on a 33ft roll. How does that compare with panaling costs?? It now has the adhesive on the back. My boy says you have to wet it before useing.

Wow... 3 bucks a foot for wall paper sounds a bit high. a 33 ft roll would be a hundred bucks! I used oak boards on our walls and ceilings... cost me 20cts a board ft to have them milled. A 4x8 sheet of paneling has 32 sq ft. so your wall paper would be about one roll per sheet of panelling... my lumber at 20 cents would amount to 6.40 per sheet of panelling. decent paneling will cost somewhere between 15 to 25 dollars per sheet.

Conventional wisdom here is to apply adhesive to the pre pasted paper.

Labor is the ? cost here.

Sorry for the but do you do that after soaking the paper, or just directly onto the dry back?
