Anyone need free shed plans?

Are you thinking of building any type of shed? There are a bunch of free plans and do-it-yourself info that might help.

I posted a few of my own shed and small barn plans as free downloads on my web site. They've been fairly popular, so I searched for more and linked to them too. There are 98 so far - storage sheds, woodsheds, potting sheds, small tractor shelters and such.

If you need plans to build from or just for ideas, here they are:

Enjoy!

Thanks. I'll take a look and see if they have one for a 12 X 16 with gable roof, 8' wall height, and skids.

I've been looking for some A-frame plans. I'd like to build a small A-frame shed really cheap, like maybe even getting away with 2x4's, and using those polycarbonate sheets that are durable and light. Just for some garden tools and misc. items.

A Frame Shed Plans

Daniel,

I've never seen plans for an A-Frame shed, but it shouldn't be difficult to build.

You could make triangular "trusses" of 2x4s. 2x4s would be the walls/roof and floor. Connect them at all corners with plywood gussets. Toe-nail the trusses at 16" or 24" on center to two or three 4x4 pressure treated skids. Nail a plywood floor to the bottom 2x4s. Add your siding/roofing and a door and you're done.

The skids should be above 4" or 6" of crushed stone or gravel to keep the wood dry.

With clear plastic outside, the same thing would make an inexpensive greenhouse.

When I bought this five acres in 1976 there had been a house trailer here that had burned down.
So, I had a well pit.
It was six foot by six foot and needed a new cover.
I built an A Frame shed on it one afternoon and it is still there doing fine.
I used 24 inch tall side walls then in the center of the rear wall I framed a small window and put a board up the center at 92 1/2 " off the floor.
Front wall I did the same thing with a door framed opening then a 2X4 on edge was the ridge.
For the roof framing I took 8' studs and cut the top angle and the bird's mouth for it to set on the short wall leaving short rafter tails.
I sheathed it with OSB and right now it needs it's 5th paint job.

The only way I have changed it was because it was setting too close to the soil so AFTER I built the shed I picked it up with a lot of levering and blocking I raised it to have room to lay another row of cement blocks then I lowered the shed back down.

It is so nice especially in the Winter here when I need to service the pump.
I just go inside the shed, open the trap door and go down the ladder.
It is all very protected from the weather.

Free Shed Plans

Rustaholic,

Nice.

5th coat of paint on the OSB? That's the problem with it. The glue that holds the wood chips together is not waterproof. You have to keep it dry or it falls apart. I wonder if exterior grade plywood or T-111 wouldn't be cheaper in the long run?
