Weedkiller

I have a steep bank that is about 1/2 acre . I am not ( physically ) able to keep it weed-eated . I would like to spray it with something that will kill the weeds & leave the grass . Any suggestions ? I don't particularly like the idea of spraying but I don't see many options . TIA .

There are several broad leaf sprays available. I think the one we've used the most is called Crossbow. We use it in our pastures.

Most (all?) broadleaf sprays for lawns are post-emergence sprays that just kill the weeds that are actively growing at the time of spraying. These herbicides do not stop the growth of new weeds that germinate after you spray. Weed-B-Gone or generic equivalent is commonly available.

If you can fence it and it's not too steep, geese do a good job on most broadleaf weeds, plus they will keep the grass mowed for you.

2-4-D does a pretty good job on most broadleaf weeds. Spray once in the spring after the weeds have pretty well all germinated... the grass will then take over choke most of any new ones out. A couple years of that and your problem should be pretty well solved.
ksfarmer and plowjockey like this.
