Best in the west place to buy dog food?

Wow! Not only has people food gone up, but food for animals has skyrocketed. Where do you get dog food for reasonable price? Is Costco comparable? Walmart?

Costco has a good quality grain-free food Nature's Domain. It's $35 for a 35 lb bag, if I remember correctly.

For that price, I found I can have Diamond brand mailed from Amazon right to my house. Also found cheaper food- from Walmart can be mailed free with a $45 purchase.

Also looking for chicken food around Spokane, if someone knows of a source...

Costco's own brand, Kirkland dog food is a Best Buy from Consumer Reports & the cost about 10.00 $ less that any other 40 # bag.

Please do not buy at Walmart - their Roy's dog food is the worst & the better stuff - I dunno. What I do know is that to keep prices down on other goods they make a cheaper quality, but keep the same label. So I sorta feel they do the same with dog food brands.

I will agree with the Costco recommendation - the Kirklands ingredients are comparable to California Natural, no byproducts or corn, and cheaper even than Dog Chow.

Good dog food isn't cheap, but what you'd pay extra for the food you save in trips to the vet if you pick out a good food. Definitely don't buy walmarts old roy food. You get what you pay for. Look for a food that's grain free with no by-products when you do narrow your search down. Your pet will be healthier and happier. I'm not sure what brands are offered out west, but I'm sure there's some good ones out there.

Cheap dog food is garbage. Do not feed wheat and corn by products to dogs, please.

I found a good dog food at the farm store, I get a 50 lb bag for $40 and with 7 dogs that is about a weeks supply.
