'Argand' vegetable oil lamps

Hello,

I am looking for more info on this type of veggie oil lamp that was built and used before fossil fuels. It would be great to be able to have simple plans to build for ourselves. They say they were up to ten times brighter than candles. I was thinking this could be a great way to use waste veggie oil.

There also was a "bude Light" that had extra air and was even brighter but I can not find hardly and info on them and how they worked.
