Century Tel is my provider in Oregon County. They are good, and we have the package of phone, internet, and Dish Network. If you are VERY remote, you might not have DSL internet yet.

GTE Corporation, formerly General Telephone & Electronics Corporation (1959-1982)[1] was the largest independent telephone company in the United States during the days of the Bell System.

No longer in business...bought out by another company.
We had CenturyTel in Christian county but that has now changed to Centurylink.

I'd look on or in the phone book for the area. My local phone company stinks. I got a no contract cell phone for a half of the monthly cost and no hassles. Good deal for me. I'm currently pandering the same idea for the puter.

GTE was sold to Verizon. Verizon resold most of its smaller wireline markets to CenturyTel and other providers. CenturyTel then bought Embarq (the wireline side of what was formerly Sprint) when Sprint merged with Nextel, and became CenturyLink. CenturyLink has since also purchased Quest.
