Walnuts good for cancer

Read this morning that english walnuts lower the risk for breast cancer by 50 % and prostate cancer by 30-40%, they said that eating 2.5 oz. per day is all it will take to help with prevention of these cancers. I believe it was the omega 3 fat in them that is what does it. Now the FDA wants to consider them a drug. Going to start eating more of these babies for sure. > Thanks Marc

Oh gosh, I LOVE plain English walnuts! I keep them in the freezer and shake out as needed. They go in breads, cakes, cookies, salads (ooh my favorite is baby greens with walnuts and Stilton cheese, then drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and a few grinds of black pepper), yogurt, you name it. I eat some plain when I'm shaking them out.

Your grandmother knew they were good for you.

Walnuts mixed in with dark chocolate to create brownies would actually be good for cancer fighting. Walnuts and dark chocolate are both part of the food regimen given to me by the Canadian Cancer Agency. As well as a whole lot more fresh fruits and veggies plus vitamin D3 capsules. All of these foods are nutrient dense so basically they provide your body with good nutrition which keeps your cells and immune system healthy. The best walnuts I have found are California walnuts.

There are several recipes for spiced and sugared walnuts on the internet. They are very tasty.

Walnuts are not just for brownies. I like mine with cheese. A couple pieces of walnut and a bite of cheese. Colby and monterey jack are my favorites. Or you could make a cheese ball with walnut pieces mixed throughout and spread it on crackers.
