LOL The minerals are still in the water they just don;t stick to the pipes as much, but it certainly does not remove them, so how can they "Soften" the water?

But its "quadruple-layer coated" how could you go wrong....lol
I think thats said about 7 times.
If you paint anything four times it makes it better right?
You would be buying a $45 kitchen magnet.
I've never used them but have talked to others that have with no results.
whenever they have to use as much hype as possible watch out, its likely a scam in one way or another.

If you do a water sample test for PH and basic minerals before & after there will be no difference in the water test. So what is it supposed to do? Also they always show this gizmo clipped onto metal pipe, usually copper, will the magnet effect work on plastic pipe? They don't say! Maybe because it dosen't do much on metal pipe either! Other than the water test preformed by a friend last yr that bought one don't have any facts on these. He still has it hooked up and still has the usuall mild limestone issues at the faucets, same as before installing 1.

Magnets have a very specific and limited use in water treatment. The cooling towers used in air conditioning of big buildings get less buildup of deposits and algae with them. (I have seen this in action and it does work.) Boilers might or might not get a tiny bit less scale. Otherwise, there is a lot of snake oil surrounding them. Don't waste your money.

Do not sell water short though. It is weird stuff that has unusual properties. In pure form it can eat away glass. It expands as it freezes, which is much different than other liquids. It can hold energy in odd ways. There is a long list of strange stuff, some of which is well recognized by the scientific community, some which is "out there" but possible.

If you run a wire through a magnetic field you get an electric current. If you run dirty (contaminated with calcium or other metals or minerals) water through a magnetic field you may align some molecules in relation to the magnet, and make some weak bonds.

It is great stuff to do experimenting with, but results are inconsistent.

When I was running a couple of 150 hp boilers in the 80s, a salesman came around with the magnets. The boss did his research, found others who had bought them, and not a one had any success. Skip it.

Well, I'll have you know that it works! It creates a magnetic alignment of the stream of water molecules(I have a LOT of IRON in my water) which, as they come out of the shower head does wonders for my skin. But I had to give it up....the magnetic flow was so strong that I couldn't turn around and get the other armpit washed!.....

LOL, I just love the ingenuity of American business.

The device is called “Hydro-Soft", but is never refers to itself as a water softener, which is generally referred to as the process of removing hardness, from water, due to minerals, which are removed in the "softening" process.

It refers to itself as a "conditioner" , or "treatment system", which could mean anything.

This is an absolute true statement.

“Hydro-Soft” magnetic water treatment devices will not give you that slimy feeling in the shower that you get from a salt based water softener.

I finally had to remove mine. One day I heard this terrible noise in the basement. Went down, and the water heater had scooted over against the furnace, and there were all these tiny magnets on the floor.......
