moldy poop

I'm building my garden spot...yes I know it's early. I am layering cardboard, rabbit poop and bedding straw, then I'm going to add soil. MY huge pile of rabbit poo/bedding straw has mold in it. Is it still usable for garden compost?

It's probably not really mold although in the same basic group. It's probably mycelium which is part of the life of a mushroom. It's no problem since it's beginning to break down the material into something that the plants can use much quicker. We often find it our piles of horse manure, too.

My rabbit poo also grows white fuzz and I never had an issue with applying it to compost, or directly to plants.

Part of the normal decomposition process. In gardening and compost, fungi and molds are your friend.

Nope, can't use it, gotta go get new poop.
Probably organic poop and not Monsanto Roundup Ready poop.
Probably needs to be free range poop that has never had intimate contact with pressure treated lumber or any petro based polymers.
While your at it you may have to get new, clean organic dirt also.

(I'm required to tell you that I'm kidding or I'll get snotty replies from the "Shorts in a knot committee---Fussy Malone, treasurer." Don't ya love election years?)
