Farm Web Page

Who do you use for your farm website hosting if you have one? What do you like, or dislike about them? How is the pricing?

I have horses, so my farm website has been on the stallionstation site since it went up in 2000. I couldn't be happier with it, she designed the website for me, I'm currently paying $150 a year for the hosting and the changes for existing pages are included. I don't know what she charges now for website design ... and might not be useful for a more general farm website. It has always worked very well for me however.

I just use a regular hosting company, not one of those services that helps you set up the site (freewebs, geocites, etc). I use BlueHost. It has all the features I need, plus a lot more. It costs about $7 a month if you pay for 3 years.

I also use wordpress to "make" the site. It's free, but I did buy a $35 template for it.

I buy my domain name from GoDaddy, and use weebly.com for my hosting - it's free, and the only indication that its not a paid site is a small line of text at the bottom of a page saying that it is hosted by Weebly. No other advertisements at all. There is a link to my site in my siggy if you want to check them out.

Nice website Wags. Did you set it up yourself, or pay to have someone do it for you? If yiou did it yourself, was it easy to do?

We use Small Farm Central for our website and hosting. It is a bit more expensive then the others that are listed on this thread but it included my shopping cart so customers can order online, a CSA sign-up and management tool for me so I can bill customers easily, and the BEST support available. Small Farm Central only does sites for farms/homesteads/etc so they know what their doing and know that most of us do not have a lot of time to spend in front of the computer. My site is easy to update, I can send out email newsletters to all of my followers easily. Anyways, you can look at our website at www.hiddenspringsfarms.com and visit www.smallfarmcentral.com for their pricing and options.

Thanks for this thread! I just bought my domain name today and then searched here for where people are hosting their sites. Good ideas here. I hope other people add to them.

We use Homesteading Host for our website hosting and set it up with WordPress. Homestead Host is very inexpensive, starting at less than $6 a month! And they are very very nice and extremely helpful!
