I wonder when it gets voted on? Wonder what chance it has of passing?

When I searched the Indiana web site for it.....it said that the Senate had passed it 6 days ago.
I believe that raw milk sales are legal in about 28 states now. If that number is accurate, then the states that ban raw milk sales are in the minority.
Indiana had allowed herd shares for quite a while. Apparently they did not see any huge 'body count' from people dying from drinking raw milk.

I just noticed at the top of the link......it says it was adopted on January 30, 2012.
I guess that it was voted on and, apparently, the majority voted for it.
I have not talked to them personally, but I wonder if they believed that the private citizen should have the freedom to choose for themselves???
OMG!!! Government entities returning a freedom to the individual!!!!

I love this. I grew up in Indiana, and it's a terrific place. I'm so glad to hear they've got this goin' on now.
Now if only Wisconsin could get the same. The Dairy State. Criminy, wake up, Cheesehead legislators!

raw milk
Sure wish it would be legalized in Texas. I love raw milk. If you know who you buy your milk from and they take appropriate care of their cows it is safe as can be.

Wisconsin already allows it. You can buy direct from any farmer of your choice. He just can't advertise it for sale.
Wisconsin's regulations:

Indiana also previously allowed it via herd share. As of 30 Jan 2012, Indiana now also allows direct sales to consumers but with much more expense to the producer than Wisconsin.

sometimes those fine print lines make a big diff.--I believe here in sd we can sell raw milk. BUT, you must have it in containers from a licenced bottling facility. my kitchen dont' count! so, its a yes/no situation still.

If you can figure out how to move your farm across the border, and have less than 20 cows, you could do it.

you would enter into the realm of the feds doing that.
Intrastate vs Interstate.
produce and sell in the State and it interstate subject to State Laws.
Produce in one state and cross into to another Interstate. Subject to the feds.
All justified by the commerce clause and a few bad supreme court rulings.
