Parts for old cream separators?

Hi, I bought an old Montgomery Ward separator last week and was assured that it was complete. Being new to the cream separator world I took their word for it... lesson learned. It definitely is not complete and actually seems to be missing the whole inner bowl, and the blades that do the separating. So... do any of you know where to find parts for these old machines? It's a really cool old machine and I would rather be able to use it then just have it for decoration. Thanks for any ideas!

Any chance you could find a picture online someplace of the parts you need? I might know where to find them.

I can't find any pictures of the parts that would be specific to the model I have, but there are pictures of the parts I need on this site; http://creamseparatorgallery.webs.com/articles.htm It's the second picture down. I'm not sure if the right parts will look exactly like those, but probably pretty close. My separator is an electric, floor model Montgomery Ward. Let me know if you need the exact model number. Thanks!

I doubt a model number would help. I know a junk dealer who has busloads of crap. I know he has some of these but no idea of make or model. Heritage Farm could probably tell you if parts from different brands are interchangeable. If you want I can check it out when it warms up a wee bit.

I've read where Heritagefarm does the cream separators.... I'd contact him... I defer to such folks with superior hands on experience. Offhand, I'd say he's the 'resident' expert!

Cream separator

I have a separator like your me model 44-hm87-1820-a. I have all to parts except for the on off switch that goes in the supply can. If you find your parts and have an extra switch it would be appreciated. I can use mine but the milk runs to fast. Thanks

#1 The parts you are looking for are called discs.
#2 I cant remember, but I THINK that they were indexed, meaning there were so many, and they all went in order onto the bowl shaft. Seems like there was a center tin piece that had 3 rounded out sections that the discs slid onto and that they were tapered bigger at bottom.
#3 What your calling as a switch. Is this the release valve onto the bowl that the milk is stored in?

If you can't find parts for it, next time you want to buy a separator hold out for a DeLaval. Hands down the best there was. I used to refurbish and sell them and IH.

YEP. IF all the parts aren't there, hold out for DeL or IHC. There the easiest to get parts for.
Ive often seen seperators sell at the sale I go to once a month. Ive always wondered how hard theyed be to sell on here.
