Too warm, where is Winter?

I do not really like the cold, but I do realize the need for winter. I have been reading about the lack of snow up north.
But what I have been seeing at my place this time of year just is not right.
I have dandelion flowers in the yard; the daffodils are coming up; suprise lily follage is starting to break ground.
In my garden area yesterday, I noticed my strawberries are blooming and my blueberry bushes have leaves starting to grow on the ends of some branches.
We are not even a month into winter yet. Maybe I should go ahead and start the garden!

The magnolia is in full bloom in front of my building! In the back, the last 5 nights or so, we had ice. (?) The days warmed up a lot though. Have never seen this in South LA in the other 19 yrs I've been here. Last 2 winters were unusually cold, w temps dropping to the teens for a few weeks. Ah, variety! But I'm with Spike; can I plant my taters and onions???

We've got it! Here on the high plains, it's -4°F, not supposed to climb above zero for at least the next couple of days. Not more than a skiff of snow so far, although we're supposed to get socked in tomorrow and Thursday.

Late fall just kept hanging on until now . . .

Too warm?

Is that anything like too happy, or too rich?

But seriously, I know what you mean. Pussy willows are out on the bush by my house. Fruit trees must be totally confused.

One local guy drowned this past weekend trying to icefish. He was an older guy and should have known better. It's only been below freezing for 2 days, and only in the 20's at that. Back up to almost 40 today. The ice is all rotten and thin.

I'm sure winter will come, eventually.

messed up weather. It will freeze and kill back everything. OR if not planted now, it will broil in the early summer without fruit maturity. Its a gamble. I don't gamble, too frugal. But what to do?

9 degrees when we got up this morning. Got up to a roaring 32F this afternoon as we've got a warm front coming on, with heavy snow apparently. Winter is definitely here in southern Idaho, although there was a bit of a delay.

Shirt sleeve weather but... Windy! I had to buy boat anchors to tie to the tail of my cows to keep them from bouncing off pasture fences.

Here in western NC, we're having one of those mild, up-and-down winters. Warmer than average with cold snaps thrown in. Windy - we even had a F2 tornado recently with serious damage to some of our neighbors . That was very unusual for Winter. No snow here yet. Pastor is disappointed . We told him he ought to have connections, lol. But it's a while until Spring, so we'll probably have some winter weather between now and then. I'm not complaining, though. You can't change it and at least heating the house has been less expensive.

I have a lot of respect for you folks up North. That's cold! Even when it's "not."

Yes with the warmer weather we are seeing a lot of unexpected life. Had a fly in the kitchen, a wasp in the turret, an ant colony heading down the hallway.

I was thinking the exact same thing this morning. It was pouring down rain. But now it's blowing and snowing here in northern IN. My DS keeps saying the rain is ruining the snow!

Same here! It was in the high 40s/50s earlier today and now an inch of snow in the last hour.

We are also getting Winter weather, finally, here in Western WA. Tomorrow, we are due snow, then Thursday & Friday, lots of rain, warmer temps (snow melting), and high winds. If we get all that, we will have a royal mess to contend with (flooding & towering evergreens toppling...). I would have been happier just to get the snow...

Winter has finally arrived in BC in a big way. Whiteout conditions across many parts of the province (sadly an RCMP officer was killed in Chilliwack today when his helicopter crashed due to snow conditions). Black ice on the roads and lots of car crashes and vehicles turned over in ditches. Temperatures are all well below 0*C and a bigger snowstorm rolling in from the southwest tonight. Sure gonna be interesting around here tomorrow.

No winter to speak of here. It's gonna be a rough summer. No bugs have been killed off and I imagine that with it being so warm now, summer is gonna be extra warm. I can't imagine what gardening this year will be like with all the extra bugs that have survived and thrived through the winter. Blessings, Kat
